School of Arts
1946 is the year that marks the beginning of the School of Arts in CC "Borba1896”. It really took heart, love for music and a lot of talent to create first violin, accordion and guitar classes. Then teachers were Iliya Nachev and Spartak Butanski. For more than half a century our illustrious compatriot creates his wonderful music, thus there is a dedicated office of him even now in the library.
Every beginning is difficult, moreover, that there were no rooms for preparation of graduates of the school. The lessons took place backstage. It takes years of hard work, for the first successes to come. Numerous recordings entered the golden fund of the Bulgarian National Radio and sealed the voices and musical performances of Vasil Karaguyski, Nicola Koshutanski and Raina Kosherska forever.
In the sixties of the last century SA "Spartak Butanski" makes a serious claim to professionalism. As teachers are drawn: Iliya Nachev, Raina Vlaevska, Constantine Mariinsky and Dimitar Gergovski. The school now has more than 100 students divided into classes of classical instruments-piano, violin and accordion.
Not little number of talented children emerged from the small community center of the small town to the big stage: opera singer Vanilla Kochovski, Raina Kosherska - teacher at the Music Academy in Plovdiv, Nikolina Marinska - musical editor of Radio Blagoevgrad.
